AHRC is a small, personal company dedicated to preserving and restoring the  architectural heritage of historic houses.  We also design and build new houses following traditional models suitable for a historic environment.  We are based in Rockport, ME and have worked in Maine, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

William Klingelhofer is an architectural historian, teacher, builder and restoration carpenter.  He holds a PhD from Harvard University and has been fortunate to be able to study architectural traditions in countries around the world, while focusing his own building and woodworking skills on early American houses.  He also continues to teach on a part-time basis, currently at the Maine College of Art and the University of Maine School of Architecture.

Meg Klingelhofer has spent years studying old houses while also acquiring a Class A contractor license and has worked as a licensed realtor.  She has also used her degree in psychology serving as education director for a well-estabished human services agency in the midcoast Maine region.
